01 · The KX1000 idea

Less searching. Better decisions.

KX1000 is not designed to throw thousands of random kicks at you. It is designed to help you discover the right kick quickly—and keep control of what already works.

Controlled discovery

Explore inside a musical lane

Choose a Kick Character, then use Dyscover to hear new Transient, Body and Sub combinations that stay connected to that direction.

Goal-driven shaping

Tell the kick what it needs to become

Punch, Cut, Smooth and Polish coordinate several parameters at once. Each action moves the entire design toward a clear musical result.

Build around the track—not around the sample. Preserve what works, change only what does not, and stop when the kick supports the music.
02 · Quick start

Your first finished kick.

The fastest workflow is deliberately simple. You can go deeper later; first, get a kick moving through the system.

Launch KX1000, then press Play so the audio engine is active.
Choose a Kick Character, or leave it on Open Dyscovery for a wider search.
If the track has a clear key, set Low-End Key and choose a Key Match rule.
Press Dyscover to build a complete Transient, Body and Sub stack.
Use Punch, Cut, Smooth or Polish to move the kick toward the result you hear in your head.
Fine-tune Drive, Tone, Depth, Length and the layer levels only where needed.
Press Export WAV. Create or sign in to your free account when prompted.
Useful habit: make one decision at a time. If the Sub already fits, lock it before exploring a new Body or Transient.
03 · Access & exporting

The full instrument comes first.

Everyone can hear, shape and explore the complete KX1000 creative experience. The account step appears when you are ready to take a finished WAV into your own music.

Important: the five-export allowance belongs to the free account for its lifetime. It is not five per visit, browser session or device.
04 · Kick architecture

One kick. Three responsibilities.

KX1000 separates the sound into three layers so you can fix the part that is wrong without sacrificing the parts that are right.

01 Transient

Attack & definition

The first edge of the kick: click, snap and strike. A Transient is often unpitched because its job is timing and clarity, not musical root.

02 Body

Punch & physical force

The knock and mid-low weight that make the kick feel present. A Body can carry a clear pitch or behave as an unpitched texture.

03 Sub

Root & low-end foundation

The deepest energy in the stack. When Low-End Key is active, the Sub remains the anchor and resolves to the selected root.

Simple rule: Sub carries the foundation. Body provides force. Transient supplies the edge.
05 · Kick Character

Choose the search direction.

Kick Character is a musical brief, not a preset. It guides Dyscover toward suitable source combinations, balances and tempo-aware timing while leaving every control available to you.

All lanes

Open Dyscovery

Search across the complete character space for unexpected combinations.

Warm · rhythmic

Afrobeats

Danceable weight, clean movement and a controlled low-end footprint.

Fast · precise

Drum & Bass

Shorter tails, firm attack and definition that survives rapid patterns.

Heavy · sharp

Dubstep

Strong impact and solid mass with room for an active bassline.

Hard · bright

Hard Dance

Aggressive front edge, high energy and unmistakable floor impact.

Warm · weighty

Hip-Hop

Body-first force, round depth and enough space for groove.

Round · bouncy

House

Confident club weight with an even, repeatable pulse.

Driven · controlled

Techno

Tight pressure, focused low-end and a machine-like centre.

Clean · skippy

UK Garage

Compact weight and clear attack designed to leave room for swing.

What stays stable: once you choose a lane, repeated Dyscover actions remain in that character until you select another. Your manual edits remain available at every stage.
06 · Intelligent actions

Direction, not decoration.

These buttons do more than add an effect. Each press coordinates several parameters across the stack to solve a specific musical problem. Press again to move further in the same direction; stop when the kick reaches the goal.

Dyscover

D

Builds a fresh, coherent Transient, Body and Sub design inside the selected Kick Character. Use it to change the identity of the kick, then refine rather than endlessly reshuffling.

Punch

P

Strengthens the physical hit by coordinating attack, Body force and impact while controlling excess low-end. Use it when the kick is audible but does not feel assertive.

Weight

W

Moves emphasis toward Body, Sub and Depth while calming unnecessary bite. Use it when the kick needs more mass rather than more click.

Cut

C

Improves separation through attack focus, tonal clarity and tighter low-end balance. Use it when the kick disappears behind instruments or dense percussion.

Smooth

S

Reduces abrasive edge, excessive drive and over-aggressive impact while softening the envelope. Use it when the design is right but the surface feels harsh.

Polish

L

Analyzes the finished stack and makes conditional balance, tone, density, punch, depth and tail decisions. Use it as a final intelligent finishing pass—not as a fixed preset.

Repeated presses are cumulative. Each action moves the kick farther toward its named result. If the sound stops improving, undo with Previous or adjust the relevant manual control.
07 · Low-End Key & Key Match

Musical low-end without forced pitch.

Low-End Key names the tonal centre of the track. Key Match tells KX1000 how broadly it may choose or tune compatible pitched material around that centre.

Key Match
Sub
Body
Transient
Root
Anchors the selected root.
Uses the root when a stable pitch is present.
Uses the root only when pitch is reliable and useful.
Root + Fifth
Still anchors the root.
May use root or fifth, choosing the better source relationship.
May use root or fifth when the layer carries a stable pitch.
Extended
Still anchors the root.
Uses root or fifth to protect the low-end harmony.
May use a compatible root, third or fifth when that produces the better result.
Low-End Key off

Keep the source tuning

Use Off when the track has no fixed key, the original tuning already works, or you want to decide entirely by ear.

Pitch-aware protection

Unpitched means usable

Many Transients—and some Body layers—do not contain a stable musical note. KX1000 keeps the most suitable unpitched source instead of forcing an unreliable pitch.

Why this matters: pitch rules are applied only where pitch is meaningful. Attack, noise and texture can remain key-neutral while the Sub provides a dependable musical foundation.
08 · Main controls

Shape by musical problem.

The manual controls remain available after every intelligent action. Use them to make a precise correction, not because every slider needs to move.

Master

Sets the working level of the complete kick. Use it when the design is right but the overall gain needs balancing.

Drive

Adds saturation, density and attitude across the stack. Use it when the kick feels too clean or lacks harmonic presence.

Tone

Moves the overall balance darker or brighter. Use it to place the kick behind or in front of the surrounding mix.

Punch

Emphasizes Body-centred chest force without relying on extra click. Use it when the kick needs physical authority.

Impact

Controls the immediacy and slam of the front/body relationship. Use it when the opening hit needs to land harder or relax.

Depth

Controls low-end weight and Sub/Body reinforcement. Use it when the kick is too light—or fighting the bass.

Transient · Body · Sub

Sets the balance of the three source layers. Use these when only one responsibility in the kick is too loud or too quiet.

Offset

Moves the start slightly earlier or later. Leave it at zero unless the track needs a deliberate micro-timing correction.

Length

Determines how much of the available tail is heard. Kick Character can choose a tempo-aware starting length; the far right preserves the full source length. Shorten it to make room, lengthen it for sustain.

Fade

Shapes the final tail and helps the sound return cleanly to silence. Increase it when a short kick ends too abruptly.

Output

Shows the final rendered waveform and playback motion. Use the final view to confirm the shape you hear before export.

09 · Layers, modes & variations

Protect the good parts.

Layer tools help you explore selectively. Modes provide quick personalities; Manual returns full authority to your current settings.

Lock

Keep this layer

Prevents the selected Transient, Body or Sub from changing while other layers are explored.

Previous / Next

Step through sources

Audition neighboring sounds in one layer without rebuilding the complete kick.

Solo

Hear the responsibility

Isolates one layer so you can judge its tone, timing and contribution clearly.

Rand

Change one layer

Chooses a fresh source for that layer while preserving the rest of the design.

Manual · exact settings Tight · compact & controlled Heavy · larger low-end mass Hard · brighter aggression Clean · reduced coloration Mode Lock · hold the personality Variation · alternate interpretation
Previous and Variation: use Previous to return to the prior design. Use the up/down Variation shortcuts to move through related interpretations without losing the core direction.

The low-end fights the bass

Create musical space

  1. Set the track's Low-End Key.
  2. Start with Root Key Match.
  3. Reduce Depth or Sub level.
  4. Shorten Length to reduce overlap.
The kick is harsh

Keep the design, soften the surface

  1. Press Smooth once.
  2. Reduce Drive if needed.
  3. Darken Tone slightly.
  4. Lower Impact before removing the Transient.
The Sub is perfect

Explore safely

  1. Lock Sub.
  2. Use Rand on Body or Transient.
  3. Solo the changed layer to inspect it.
  4. Return to the full stack before deciding.
The kick is nearly finished

Make the final pass

  1. Listen once without touching a control.
  2. Press Polish.
  3. Compare the result at matched level.
  4. Export only when the change supports the track.
11 · WAV export

Take the finished kick with you.

Export renders the current Transient, Body and Sub stack with its processing, timing and final shape as a WAV for your DAW.

Listen to the complete kick and confirm the final waveform, Length and Fade.
Press Export WAV or use the E shortcut.
If requested, create or sign in to your free KX1000 account.
Save the rendered WAV, then import it into your DAW.
Free account

Five lifetime exports

The allowance follows the account and does not refresh when KX1000 is reloaded or opened elsewhere.

Export identity

Readable file names

Names identify KX1000 and the generated kick; when Low-End Key is active, the selected key is included for easier library organization.

After export five: you can continue exploring and shaping KX1000. Upgrade to Creator when you want to keep exporting WAVs without an allowance.
12 · Keyboard shortcuts

13 · Troubleshooting

Fast answers.

Work from the simplest cause first. Most issues are solved by activating audio, checking the current layer balance or correcting the tail.

I cannot hear anything.

Press Launch KX1000, then Play. Browsers often require a direct click before they allow audio. Confirm the Master level and the Transient, Body and Sub levels are above zero.

The kick clicks at the beginning or end.

Increase Fade slightly or lengthen the kick. Extreme Drive, Punch, Impact or Depth can expose abrupt edges, so reduce them temporarily to identify the cause.

The kick feels too clicky or aggressive.

Press Smooth once. If more correction is needed, lower Transient or Impact and move Tone slightly darker.

The kick feels muddy or too long.

Reduce Depth or Sub level, then shorten Length. A tighter Kick Character may produce better source material than extreme corrective settings.

The low-end clashes with the bass.

Set Low-End Key to the track's root and begin with Root Key Match. Reduce Depth or Sub, shorten Length, and judge the kick with the bass playing.

Key Match does not appear to change a layer.

The layer may be unpitched or may not contain a reliable note. KX1000 intentionally avoids forcing musical tuning onto attack, noise or ambiguous material.

Dyscover changed something I wanted to keep.

Use Previous to return, then lock the layer that was working. Continue with Dyscover or use Rand only on the layer you want to replace.

My free account cannot export another WAV.

A free account includes five lifetime WAV exports. If all five have been used, upgrade to Creator for unlimited exporting; restarting the browser does not renew the allowance.

The exported kick sounds different in my DAW.

Check that your DAW channel has no additional processing, warping, normalization or time-stretching. Compare at the same playback level and confirm the file starts at its original beginning.
