User Manual

KX1000 is a browser-based kick construction system. Build from Transient, Body and Sub layers, choose the kick character, control the low-end, shape the hit and export your own WAVs with the Creator License.

Core idea
A kick is not one sound. It is Transient, Body and Sub.
Main workflow
Choose a lane, press Discover, then refine the layers.
Creator License
Unlock all styles, Low-End Key, WAV export and the full library.

Quick Start

Click Launch KX1000 to start the audio engine.
Choose a Starting Point if you know the kick character you want.
Press Discover to generate a complete Transient / Body / Sub stack.
Shape the kick with Punch, Impact, Depth, Drive, Tone and the layer levels.
Use Low-End Key in the Creator License version when the kick needs to fit your track’s key.
When it hits right, press Download WAV in the Creator License version.
Best first move: choose a Starting Point, press Discover, then adjust only one or two controls. KX1000 is built for controlled discovery.

Kick Architecture

KX1000 separates the kick into three controllable parts so you can build the foundation around your track instead of searching endlessly for a sample that almost works.

Transient
The attack, click, snap and front edge. Transients are usually UNPITCHED and act as key-neutral attack layers.
Body
The punch, knock and mid-low force. Bodies may be KEY when they have a clear musical root, or UNPITCHED when they are mainly knock/texture.
Sub
The low-end foundation. Subs are the key-critical layer when Low-End Key is used.
Simple rule: Sub carries the root. Body gives the kick force. Transient gives the kick its edge.

Starting Points

Starting Point chooses the kick character. Random and Discover stay inside that lane while you still keep full manual control.

Starting PointCharacter
AllFull discovery across every kick character.
AfrobeatsWarm, rhythmic, danceable, controlled low-end.
Drum & BassShort, fast, punchy, tight tail.
DubstepSharp, heavy, bassline-friendly.
Hard DanceHard, bright, aggressive, high-impact.
Hip-HopWarm, weighty, body-first.
HouseWarm, rounded, bouncy.
TechnoTight, driven, controlled club pressure.
UK GarageTight, bouncy, clean, swing-friendly.

Low-End Key

Low-End Key controls the musical root of the low-end. This is a Creator License feature.

Key MatchHow it behaves
RootThe Sub targets the selected root.
Root + FifthThe Sub stays on the root. Body can use root or fifth. Transients remain attack-focused.
ExtendedThe Sub stays on the root. Body can use root/fifth. Transient may use root, third or fifth only if useful.
Key tags refer to the most useful musical root where one is clearly present. Attack and texture layers may be labelled UNPITCHED when no reliable root exists.

Keyed and Unpitched

The verified library uses clearer labels so the file names are useful without pretending every sound has a stable key.

LabelMeaning
KEY_CA stable, useful musical root is clearly present.
UNPITCHEDMainly attack, click, noise, texture or no reliable musical root.
NO_CLEAR_KEYPitch is unstable or ambiguous, so it should be chosen by ear.
Transients are usually UNPITCHED. This is intentional. They are used for attack and definition, not for the musical root of the kick.

Main Controls

ControlPurpose
MasterOverall output level.
DriveSaturation, density and attitude.
ToneBrightness or darkness.
PunchBody/chest force without adding extra click.
ImpactSlam and front/body authority.
DepthLow-end weight and sub/body reinforcement.
TransientAttack layer level.
BodyBody layer level.
SubSub layer level.

Layer Controls

Each layer can be locked, changed, soloed or randomized.

Lock
Keeps that layer unchanged while other layers change.
Previous / Next
Steps through sounds in that layer.
Solo
Auditions one layer on its own.
Rand
Changes only that layer while keeping the rest of the kick intact.

Timing

Timing controls how the kick starts, ends and sits in time.

ControlMeaning
OffsetMoves the kick earlier or later. Leave at 0 unless you need micro-timing adjustment.
LengthControls how much of the kick tail is kept. Starting Points can set a musical length automatically.
FadeApplies an end fade to avoid clicks.
KX1000 also applies tail de-click protection so shortened kicks end more smoothly.

Export

In the Creator License version, Download WAV exports the current kick for use in your DAW.

Export names include KX1000, a generated kick name, the word KICK, and the selected key tag when Low-End Key is active.

The generated kick name stays the same while the Transient, Body and Sub stack stays the same.

Tips

Build around the track
Choose a Starting Point based on the track, then adjust the layers.
Lock what works
When the Sub works, lock it and explore Body/Transient.
Control low-end first
If the kick fights the bass, reduce Depth or use Low-End Key.
Do not overdrive
Drive can add excitement, but too much may reduce clean low-end headroom.
